VI. A Darkness

To get a storm

You need a darkness

To get a darkness

You plunge the person into nothingness.

*

Who are you to prostrate?

Who are you to remember and speak the sacred names?

What makes your prostration different than compulsion and desperation?

*

Your job is to become still and spacious

Then you may receive the only prostration that matters.

*

Heaven falls into you.

The Light bends its body down into Her center.

*

Can you receive the prostration

Or do you mimic and bounce and pretend to prevail?

*

To pull down Lightning

We need a darkness

For Her to shine in.

*

We get a darkness

By letting the Earth fall into Her center

We let the Earth hold the prostration of the Sun.

*

You fall into me because I nestle into Her curvature

And from there everything unfolds

Her sacrum is your prayer mat of choice.

*

We pretend to be alone, to die, to be be real, to be You.

There is no person

There is no clear sky

There is only the darkness of the storm that is coming.

*

All of the dervishes are in love

They get high on their love

like butterflies feasting on summer flowers.

*

I am the catcher of the One they seek

He falls into me and I must carry him forward.

*

The labor of the trembling womb

The squeezing of the Earthly tomb

This field of labor must be passed through.

*

He loves to put his face on this fertile field

She causes it to spin to the West

And you must carry him to the East

Stillness in movement

The duration of His day

A pure time, A pure space

A labour that never ends.

Beginingless dream.

You who carry the One

through this uncreated spinning whorl.

Find freedom, find peace.
